Employee Spotlight-Dion Hughs
Dion is a chef at The Pointe and has been with us for 4 years. Like any true chef, Dion doesn't believe that preparing the food is where his responsibility ends. "I always try to get feedback from the residents in regards to the meals we are serving." says Dion. "It is important that they are not only getting high quality, but that they are also getting the items they enjoy eating." Dion went on to say that he really enjoys the environment and likes the fact he can build strong relationships with the residents as well as fellow coworkers.

The Pointe recently hosted the January meeting for the Midlothian/Posen Chamber of Commerce. Despite the inclement weather conditions, many of the members made it to the luncheon to share news and discuss what is going on in the community.
Members from the Parks Department and local library gave updates for their respective renovations and private business owners discussed news from the area. Also on hand, Executive Director, Zoe Espitia and Program Director, Angie Garbaczewski of The Pointe along with two residents, Luise Ciara and Ruth Harenberg. Espitia gave a brief history of The Pointe and explained Supportive Living to the chamber members. She also took the group on a tour of The Pointe. Garbaczewski provided information on the lifestyle and activities that take place at The Pointe and introduced the residents. Each had their own experiences to share, but both Ruth and Louise, who have become the best of friends since meeting at The Pointe, expressed their sincere love of their home, stressing that they always felt safe and loved the independence they had. Both answered questions from chamber members and were obviously proud of their community. The room broke out into laughter when the residents announced they had to leave so as to not be late for the next activity.
