Breakfast with Santa
Santa Claus took time out of his busy schedule to make his annual trip to The Pointe at Kilpatrick on Saturday, December 3rd. Each year Santa, (played by resident, Hank Zelcovich this year), visits the residents of The Pointe, along with their family and friends. It is one of the favorite events of the year.

Featured Resident
 Julia, or Julie, as she prefers to be called has been a resident at The Pointe for a little over 2 years. A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, Julie lived in Orland Park a short time before moving into The Pointe. Given her history of travel, adventure, and having been known to jump into a pool fully clothed from time to time (just to cool off!), she was given the nickname, "Mrs. Fun" by her family. Julie was looking for a place to live that had a strong social environment; one in which she could make new friends and participate in various activities. Julie found both at The Pointe and has been happy with her decision.

Employee Spotlight
 Joyce started working at The Pointe, at the front desk, about 8 years ago, on December 19, 2003. The building hadn't been opened long and just had a handful of residents at the time. She had come in to pick up her daughter, Josie, and met her boss at the time. Joyce expressed interest in working at The Pointe and about three weeks later, she received a call and jumped at the chance. It didn't take her long to get to know all of the residents. This lead the Business Office Manager, Rita Ball, to recommend Joyce for a position in our New Day Neighborhood (Memory Support Area), to lead activities and work with the Program Director.

Maintenance Director, Dan Oganivich, received the news that he was once again a grandfather. On Saturday, December 10th, Dan's daughter gave birth to Nicholas Dean Wolfe. Nicholas is Dan's 10th grandchild.
The Pointe welcomed back Shirley Camacho, Marketing Director. Shirley was involved in a serious motorcycle accident and has been recuperating for several weeks. It's good to have you back Shirl!

A video of the winning performance will then be submitted to the AALC judging committee, who will compile an online video gallery of the top 25 competitors. Online voting by SLF residents will then be available until the March 30th. The top 10 acts will then compete in Springfield, IL on April 30th.
