The Pointe at Kilpatrick - Crestwood, IL - Featured Resident Robert McClellan March 2011Robert McClellan, better known as Bob, is one of our very animated residents.  He is usually the first one up and dancing during parties and musical performances.  He describes himself as a free spirit who truly enjoys people and lives his life with a positive attitude.  He is often heard saying, "I can't lose, because I have faith, courage and enthusiasm."  Bob learned of this quote during his many years as a motivational speaker for the Gabriel Richard Motivation Course.  He would open his classes with "The Peace Prayer" and would always advise others to "Let go your sadness."  He strongly believes this is the path to happiness.
Bob credits his strong faith to his grandmother, who raised him. She would take in boarders to make ends meet and Bob remembers the kindness she always showed them.  He says that many of the boarders kept in touch for years after their stay, becoming lifelong friends with him and his grandmother.  When Bob was 16, he got his first job as an Usher at the famed Chicago Theater and from there spent most of his professional years as a salesman. He claimed it was the perfect job for him and his love of people.  When not working, Bob was busy raising 6 children (5 girls and a boy) and now enjoys his 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In true "Bob" fashion, he ended the conversation with the beautiful, Irish saying:

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind always be at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face
and the rains fall soft upon your fields
 and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand
