Derrick Cogwell

 Derrick Cogwell is Maintenance Assistant at The Pointe at Kilpatrick and has been working here for nearly 4 years.  Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, Derrick says "I've always loved working on things and fixing them." A true "Jack of all trades", his multitude of talents ranges from home maintentance to auto mechanics.  When asked what he does in his free time, Derrick laughed and said, "I like working on my cars, remodeling my house and landscaping my yard." He is also an admitted neat freak. "My priorities are to provide a safe and clean environment for everyone at The Pointe." Derrick quickly points out.  His good natured personality and willingness to help, make him a favorite among the residents and staff alike.
    When not at The Pointe, Derrick can usually be found at home with his wife of 8 years and their 2 daughters, 16 & 2 years of age.  Derrick's desire to provide a clean, safe environment does not end when he leaves work.  As he stated before, he truly enjoys working on his cars and washing them as well remodeling and redecorating his home. This includes landscaping and lawn maintenance. 
     Derrick has turned his hobbies and interests into a career and the passion behind his work is evident.  His unwavering dedication and strong work ethic are key elements that make The Pointe the wonderful community it is; whether you live there or work there.
