Dion Hughs

Dion is a chef at The Pointe and has been with us for 4 years. Like any true chef, Dion doesn’t believe that preparing the food is where his responsibility ends. “I always try to get feedback from the residents in regards to the meals we are serving.” says Dion. “It is important that they are not only getting high quality, but that they are also getting the items they enjoy eating.” Dion went on to say that he really enjoys the environment and likes the fact he can build strong relationships with the residents as well as fellow coworkers. Dion also plays another very important role at The Pointe…as Elvis! Several times a years, Dion dons his classic, white Elvis jumpsuit and performs for the residents. It is always a huge hit and the residents really look forward to seeing their chef and friend at the microphone, belting out Elvis tunes.

Besides his impersonations of The King, Dion also enjoys walking and playing with his dog. Born and raised in nearby Blue Island, IL, he still has close family ties in the area. “I love working at The Pointe and being close to my 2 sisters and my mom. We are very close and I plan on staying in the area and at The Pointe for a long time to come.”
