Santa Claus took time out of his busy schedule to make his annual trip to The Pointe at Kilpatrick on Saturday, December 3rd. Each year Santa, (played by resident, Hank Zelcovich this year), visits the residents of The Pointe, along with their family and friends. It is one of the favorite events of the year. The day started with a hearty breakfast served in the dining room. Afterward, everyone gathered around the great room to await the arrival of Santa. Meanwhile, vendors were set up throughout the first floor, providing a convenient opportunity for some holiday shopping. The residents and staff also held a bake sale. All of the money raised from the bake sale went to the Activity Department to help fund activities and field trips for the residents. Once Santa arrived, all attention was on him. Children gathered quickly to have their pictures taken by one of the professional photographers on hand. There were many wonderful moments, including a picture with resident, Tony Liberatore and his great granddaughter on Santa’s lap. Even several of the residents hopped up on Santa’s knee to tell him what they wanted and get their picture taken. “It’s such a wonderful time of year here [The Pointe]”, said Administrator, Zoe Espitia. “It started with the tree trimming party after Thanksgiving and continues throughout the month. There is always something going and everyone is excited.” Program Director, Angie Garbaczewski, echoed Espitia’s sentiments adding, “It’s nice to see all of the families together. Kids always bring a special energy to these events and the residents really enjoy that.” |
