Crestwood, IL - As part of The Pointe at Kilpatrick's ongoing creative arts program,  Chicago artist,Sergio "David" Rojas, lead an art class for several of the reisdents on Monday, September 13th.  David is primarily a self taught artist who works in many different medians.  For this specific class, he used a variety of pencils with different composites and had the participants create an image by repeating the same "twister" like shape across the page.  Though everyone was given the same shape to use, all of their finished pieces were different. David also encouraged the participants to walk around and view the other's works during the process. By doing this, they could then see how the same image could be used in different ways resulting in different effects.  The hour long class not only promoted creativity, but also sparked several discussions.  One resident, Lucille,  brought several water color paintings she had created many years ago. Her paintings were beautiful and of professional qaulity. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experience with everyone else.  The residents and staff would like to thank David and look forward to his next lesson.
