The Pointe at Kilpatrick - Crestwood, IL
The Pointe recently hosted a FREE informational seminar for their residents as well as the local community. Presented by Diane Adduci, a representative of Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Medicare program, the 90 minute seminar is designed to inform users of any changes in their plans and tips on how to best utilize the plan they currently have.
Speaking to a full house, Adduci began the program by explaining the terms and definitions used throughout the booklets that she handed out. She also stressed the importance of understanding what your plan covers. "Knowing the 'exceptions', as well as what substitutes are available, can save you money." Adduci stated, "Medicare provides a list of medications covered, but what most people don't know is that in some cases, 'exceptions' can be made and they can get coverage for meds that aren't on the list. You should check with your physician or a Medicare representative to see if you qualify." Several family members attended the seminar as well, in hopes of better understanding, the often times confusing regulations and changes of the Medicare programs. Adduci took questions throughout the program, addressing the various concerns.
The Pointe would like to thank Adduci for her helpful presentation. If you have any questions regarding the Medicare program, you can call 1-800-MEDICARE for assistance. The line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
